Effective Vitamin C enhances digestion and energy, soy-free with non-GMO corn.
This Vitamin C supplement delivers quick digestion support and energy boosts, trusted by Dr. Ben Lynch, but contains non-GMO corn preventing a 5-star rating.
This review is from Amazon.com for product:
Optimal Liposomal Vitamin C - Lemon Zest | Non-Soy Non-GMO | 1,000 mg Liposomal Vitamin C per Serving |5 oz | 30 Servings
I've used 2 bottles of this product already. I feel the effects right away. It helps improve bowel motility (usually stubborn!) and I feel more energy when I take it. I trust the information that I've viewed & read in Dr. Ben Lynch's presentations.
I appreciate that there is no soy in this product.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it contains corn (at least it's non-GMO corn).
Vitamin Basics & Tips
Vitamin C, a water-soluble nutrient, plays vital roles in immune function, collagen synthesis, and antioxidant protection. While many associate it with citrus fruits, supplements like this liposomal or buffered form may enhance absorption and reduce stomach irritation. Improved bowel motility reported by users aligns with Vitamin C's osmotic effect in the gut, which can soften stools at higher doses.
Non-GMO corn as an ingredient reflects growing consumer demand for cleaner formulations. Corn-derived additives like maltodextrin are common in supplements but may concern sensitive individuals. Soy-free labeling caters to allergen-conscious buyers, as soy is a frequent filler in capsules. Dr. Ben Lynch’s endorsement references emerging research on nutrient bioavailability – a key consideration given synthetic Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) lacks co-factors present in whole-food sources like acerola or camu camu.
Daily Vitamin C needs vary: 75-90mg for adults, but stress, smoking, or illness may increase requirements. While this product’s energy-boosting effects could stem from enhanced iron absorption (Vitamin C aids non-heme iron uptake) or reduced oxidative stress, users should monitor tolerance as megadoses (>2,000mg) may cause diarrhea.
