THORNE Basic Nutrients 2/Day - Comprehensive Daily Multivitamin with Optimal Bioavailability - Vitamin & Mineral Formula - Gluten, Dairy & Soy-Free - 60 Capsules - 30 Servings
BEWARE, negative reviews are correct, these pills are very high in Vitamin B which can cause a range of bad symptoms IF you are Vitamin B deficient, which these vitamins will definitely make you feel over stimulated / anxious if so, they can also cause gas and bloating if you have digestive issues. If you're just starting on your journey of reclaiming your health you may want to look for a gentler vitamin.
For example my experience so far has not been great, I've been on a path to regain control of my health, I jog, lift weights, push ups, squats, and try to get 10k steps daily, most people think I'm the picture of health but the reality is my sedentary lifestyle from my IT career has taken a toll on my body.
So I started taking one pill a day, I didn't do with knowledge of the high vitamin B content, I'm just on a budget wanted to stretch a bottle over 2 months. First time taking this pill, boom I felt wired and almost high, nervous I got to lay down on the floor with my knees up... I'm stubborn, I pushed through, and now am on day 6, today I only felt the onset rush for about 30 minutes, alright getting better maybe I'm adjusting. I feel awake, alert, with it, a bit jittery, but I'm going to see where this road goes, maybe I'm filling in a deficiency.
Vitamin Basics & Tips
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble nutrient critical for vision, immune function, and skin health. While the review focuses on side effects from high doses, it’s important to note that Vitamin A is commonly found in foods like liver, carrots, and sweet potatoes. The recommended daily intake is 700–900 mcg for adults, with excess intake (over 3,000 mcg) potentially causing toxicity symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and even hair loss.
Unlike water-soluble vitamins, excess Vitamin A is stored in the body, increasing overdose risks. Pregnant women should avoid high doses due to birth defect risks. For those with digestive issues, opting for beta-carotene (a Vitamin A precursor) from plant sources may be gentler, as the body converts only what it needs. Always consult a healthcare provider before starting supplements, especially if you have deficiencies or chronic conditions.
Balanced diets typically provide sufficient Vitamin A, but supplementation can benefit those with deficiencies or specific health goals. Monitor for side effects like headaches or dry skin, and prioritize third-party tested brands to ensure safety and potency.
