15000 IU Vitamin A for Retinal Pigmentosa Relief | Eye Health Solution

My eye doctor told me I had to take 15,000 IU of Vitamin A palminate daily for the rest of my life since I have an eye disorder. This product and one other company are the only ones that have the required 15,000 IU that is necessary. Most Vitamin A is 10,000 IU and often from beta carotene which is the wrong kind.

If you have retinal pigmentosa ( RP) or a degenerative eye disorder involving the rods and cones, you will be encouraged to take this product. There's only two companies that I know of that carries the 15,000 IU in Vitamin A palminate products. I've been taking this Vit A for years, and it works and does the job it's supposed to do. If you have RP, this product will slow down the disease progess if you take it daily. The other company is Carlson Labs with gel type pills which I've also used.

Apparently it is also great for healthy skin care, for I have great skin now. Can't complain. Definitely a product to take if you have RP or an eye disorder.

Vitamin Basics & Tips

Vitamin A palmitate plays a critical role in ocular health, particularly for retinal disorders like retinitis pigmentosa (RP). Unlike beta-carotene supplements that require conversion to active vitamin A (retinol), pre-formed vitamin A palmitate provides direct biological availability. The 15,000 IU dosage recommended for RP patients stems from the AREDS2 study, which identified specific nutrient combinations for slowing retinal degeneration.

Retinal pigmentosa patients often experience progressive loss of rod and cone photoreceptors. Vitamin A palmitate supports retinal pigment epithelium function, helping maintain photoreceptor metabolism. While high doses require medical supervision due to potential toxicity risks, studies show 15,000 IU daily is safe for RP patients under professional care.

Beyond ocular benefits, vitamin A palmitate contributes to skin health by regulating keratinization and sebum production. Dietary sources like liver, fish oils, and fortified dairy provide natural vitamin A, but therapeutic doses often require supplementation. Patients using high-dose vitamin A should monitor liver enzymes and avoid concurrent use with other retinoid medications.
