Vitamin A Immune Booster: Sucralose Concerns & Stevia Request

Great product, sweetened with sucralose. My immune system has improved. Sucralose aka aspartame, does cause fatigue. I would not have purchased this product if I had known. Why would the manufacturer use sucralose when they could easily use stevia or one of the sugar alcohols? I recommend we all urge the manufacturer use stevia or xylitol. The immune boosting properties of this product are second to none, imo. : )

Vitamin Basics & Tips

Vitamin A plays a vital role in maintaining immune function, vision health, and cellular growth. Found naturally in foods like carrots, sweet potatoes, and spinach, it exists in two forms: preformed vitamin A (retinoids from animal sources) and provitamin A carotenoids (plant-based, like beta-carotene). Supplements often combine these with additives for stability or taste, but sweetener choices matter. Sucralose, an artificial sweetener mentioned in the review, is calorie-free but debated for potential side effects like fatigue or gut microbiome disruption.

Natural alternatives like stevia (plant-derived) or xylitol (sugar alcohol) are increasingly preferred for their minimal metabolic impact. When selecting supplements, check labels for additives aligning with your health goals. Vitamin A’s immune benefits stem from its role in maintaining mucosal barriers and white blood cell production, but excessive intake can be toxic. Adults need 700–900 mcg daily, ideally from balanced diets or carefully formulated supplements. Always consult healthcare providers before starting new regimens, especially if combining multiple vitamin sources.
