Bariatric Fusion Bariatric Multivitamin with Iron Complete Chewable | Mixed Berry | Post Bariatric Vitamins for Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy | One Month Supply
I have been taking post bariatric vitamins for about 9 years and I have previously used two other brands, both of which were good, but which have become kind of difficult to find at the pharmacy nearest my home. And both of those brands were a citrus flavor. That never really bothered me but it did get to the point where I kind of felt like a different flavor might be a welcome change. And I came across these so I decided to give them a try. Believe me, it was a terrific choice. I really like the flavor of these vitamins.
I read a great number of reviews prior to purchasing and can attest to the fact that these vitamins do in fact have a kind of chalk like quality, but consider this; it's a hardened disk like chewable vitamin and of course it's going to become powder like when chewed! That said, the overall flavor is BIG and almost delightful. How many things of a medical or pharmaceutical nature can you think of that are really terrific tasting? How many medicines have you ever taken that have been delicious?
These are a very flavorful multi-vitamin for anyone post surgery who wants something other than the standard issue citrus flavor. I could see maybe alternating the two at some point down the road, nothing wrong with a little variety. These are no more difficult to chew than the Sweet Tarts that were available at every candy section in America when I was a kid. I can recommend these vitamins wholeheartedly.
Vitamin Basics & Tips
Vitamin A plays a crucial role in maintaining vision, immune function, and skin health. While this review focuses on flavor and texture, it’s worth noting that post-bariatric patients often require specialized vitamins like these to address nutrient absorption challenges after surgery. Vitamin A deficiency can lead to night blindness and weakened immunity, making supplementation vital for those with reduced digestive capacity.
In daily life, vitamin A can be obtained from foods like carrots, sweet potatoes, and spinach, but chewable or dissolvable forms are preferred for individuals with absorption issues. Overconsumption, however, may cause toxicity, so adhering to recommended doses is essential. Post-surgical patients should prioritize vitamins with bioavailable forms (e.g., beta-carotene) to ensure optimal uptake.
When selecting supplements, consider factors beyond flavor, such as nutrient density and compatibility with dietary restrictions. Always consult healthcare providers to tailor choices to individual recovery needs and avoid interactions with other medications.
