Vitamin A Serum Review: Echinacea Allergy Alert & Results

Works great, I just wish there were options without the Echinacea. My body does not like it... come to find out if you have allergies to ragweed you could have reactions and I did, but I survived! 4 stars because of my reactions to it. I think the product works great itself.

Vitamin Basics & Tips

Vitamin A plays crucial roles in vision, immune function, and skin health, with supplements often combined with complementary ingredients like Echinacea. However, cross-reactivity between Echinacea and ragweed allergies is well-documented, as both belong to the Asteraceae plant family. Those with seasonal allergies should consult healthcare providers before using such combinations.

Natural Vitamin A sources include liver, fish oils, and orange-colored vegetables containing beta-carotene. Supplement users should note that preformed Vitamin A (retinol) from animal sources has different absorption rates than plant-based provitamin A carotenoids. The NIH recommends 700-900 mcg RAE daily for adults, with excessive intake potentially causing toxicity symptoms.

When choosing supplements, allergy-prone individuals should scrutinize additional ingredients. Echinacea-free alternatives might include standalone Vitamin A capsules or formulas with quercetin/vitamin C. Patch testing new supplements and gradually increasing dosage can help identify adverse reactions early. Always combine fat-soluble vitamins like A with dietary fats for optimal absorption.
