KimChi powder controls shine, blurs pores, and provides a filter-like finish for oily skin, despite bulky packaging.
KimChi powder delivers lasting oil control and blurring effects but has bulky packaging unsuitable for on-the-go use.

KimChi Chic Giant Puff Puff Pass Set & Bake Powder - Loose Setting Powder with Rice & Vitamin E, Finely Milled for All Day Wear, Translucent 80g

As a certified oily girl, KimChi is the secret ingredient I’ve been missing. Because my skin is oily, I use 2 very expensive makeup primers & even then, I still get shine through out the day. I’ve learned that I need to incorporate more powders into my routine. I chose the translucent white powder because my foundation is already a pressed powder- my complexion. I use kimchi to set my brightening concealer & then bake with my loose brightening powder. After a few hours I touch up any oily areas on my face using kimchi again. I absolutely see the blurring everyone mentions its the closest you’ll get to a filter in real life!
In the video I’ve provided you see me touching up my makeup that I’ve worn for 6hrs before needing the touch up- that’s how strong kimchi holds my makeup
I know some are afraid of flashback with white powders but that only happens if they aren’t using it correctly. You have to knock the excess powder off the brush before applying & spray setting spray to balance absorption.
All in all, I love this powder. Some have trouble opening it, there’s a very thin/fine plastic film that’s there. Once you peel that off, you’ll have access to the powder. I don’t use the big puff it comes with because I like to keep it there as a stopper to avoid excess powder making the bottle messy.
My only complaint is how bulky the packaging is. I wish they had an smaller size because its not easy to transport considering purses are smaller.
Vitamin Basics & Tips
Vitamin A plays a crucial role in skin health, particularly for those with oily or acne-prone skin. It regulates sebum production, reduces inflammation, and promotes cell turnover, helping to unclog pores and prevent breakouts. Foods rich in vitamin A, like sweet potatoes, spinach, and carrots, can support skin clarity from within.
Topical vitamin A derivatives, such as retinol, are widely used in skincare for their anti-aging and acne-fighting properties. However, overuse can cause dryness or irritation, so gradual incorporation into routines is advised. Always pair vitamin A products with sunscreen, as they increase sun sensitivity.
For makeup enthusiasts, balancing vitamin A skincare with makeup application is key. Allow serums or creams to fully absorb before applying products like powders to avoid pilling. Those with oily skin may benefit from combining vitamin A treatments with oil-controlling makeup, as seen in the reviewed powder’s performance.
