Timeless Skin Care Vitamin C Serum with Vitamin E & Ferulic Acid - Brightening Serum - for Oily & Dry Skin - Fragrance-Free - 1 oz
I'm a skincare nut (combination skin), and have always taken very good care of my skin since my late teens/ early 20's. Now that I'm older in my 30's, my main concerns are fine lines, forehead lines, pore size, and moisturizing without breakouts. SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic is way too expensive and this is the dupe of the century. I was BLOWN away. When I tell you the results were almost immediate, I'm not kidding. Whenever I try a new skincare product, I get impatient and need to know how well it works and how fast. So I typically go outside of my usual routine, put the product on by itself morning and night, and observe results after about a week or so.
I put it on the day I received it in the evening, and woke up to poreless and glowing skin like I was a teenager. Fine lines were reduced, and even my deep forehead lines have diminished after about a week- and I've been working on those for awhile. I had finally just accepted the only route left was either lasers or botox (neither of which I wanted to do)... until this. I honestly don't know if I should continue my retinal in the evening at this point because it just works that well. If you're the type of person that wants immediate results and can't wait 12 weeks for your product to start working, this is what you want. Now, could it be the hyaluronic acid in it that's causing the quick results? Maybe, but I've used plenty of products with Hyaluronic acid in it, and my skin has never looked like this. I don't even use makeup primer anymore. And those pesky little dark scars from the zits I got after eating too much ice cream are disappearing more and more every day. The consistency is very loose like a thin oil, and has a weird smell from the chemicals that goes away after it fully absorbs. Some people say it smells like hotdog water, but I guess for lack of a better description it's kind of like that.
I really can't imagine SC working any better than this, but for the price? I'll take my chances with Timeless!!
Vitamin Basics & Tips
Vitamin C serums like this product leverage L-ascorbic acid's collagen-boosting properties to combat aging. At optimal concentrations (10-20%), it neutralizes free radicals from UV exposure and pollution while brightening skin through tyrosinase inhibition. The addition of hyaluronic acid enhances hydration retention, creating a plumping effect that temporarily reduces fine line visibility.
For maximum efficacy, vitamin C works synergistically with vitamin E and ferulic acid (as seen in CE Ferulic formulations) to increase photoprotection by eightfold. Daily morning application before sunscreen creates a protective barrier against oxidative stress. Users should store serums in cool, dark environments to prevent oxidation – a process signaled by color darkening.
While immediate "glow" results often stem from surface hydration, long-term benefits like collagen synthesis require 6+ weeks of consistent use. Those with sensitive skin should gradually introduce vitamin C to avoid irritation, and avoid combining with retinol until tolerance develops.
